I realize that I haven’t updated about the status of my gestational diabetes test. Thankfully, I only had abnormal numbers after one blood draw. So, I only have to keep an eye on my carb consumption. No sugar checks before and after meals . . . no visit to the nutritionist required. Yeah!
We’re 29 weeks now — baby is moving a lot. I had some nice contractions Monday night. Needless to say, I didn’t get much done after work. I’ve felt better today.
Speaking of today . . . I started “working” at the real estate office today. I certainly want to do real estate, but I also want to have my time at home. Having to leave the baby basically every day this week has me on edge. I miss him a lot.
As for little girl, her crib is in (we haven’t picked it up yet) and her bedding is here too. I can’t wait to get it all put together. The walls will get painted, eventually.

After 8 years, it was finally time to upgrade. No time to share — it was quite the ordeal. 100+ degree heat and Nathaniel.
I love it! Thanks, sweetheart!

As I sit in the lab recliner, I thought I would post some thoughts and catch up on this week.
I’m 28 weeks now, so I had to go in for routine gestational diabetes testing this week. I chose Tuesday so I could work on Monday and get the blood work taken care of before I needed to be at mobile meals to cook. I arrived at the lab, only to discover that I’d forgotten my wallet (with insurance card and money for food after fasting). I couldn’t find my cell phone either.
Great!
They went ahead and let me drink the nasty orange beverage and get my blood drawn — I promised to provide insurance information later. I survived (there was another pregnant lady to talk to) the testing and finally found my phone. Dh was able to provide the insurance information and I remembered I had a check that needed to be cashed, so I was able to have some breakfast. I made it to mobile meals about an hour late (they were not expecting me, considering the 105+ degree heat). I helped out and then went home. I didn’t feel so well afterwards. I hoped to hear one way or another from the doctor on Tuesday, but nada.
Wednesday, Bloss, my nephew, Eddison, Nathaniel, and I drove to Tulsa to meet up with a bunch of family. We ate lunch and had cake for early month birthdays. Nathaniel and Joshua were able to play again — they are very funny to watch together. We were exhausted by the time we got back to OKC. Nathaniel was so tired of his car seat. While in Tulsa, I called the doctor’s office to ask about my test results. They called back pretty shortly — of course, I failed the one hour glucose test. That means I have to go back for the three hour.
So here I am. Thankfully, the hospital now has wireless access for patients! Thank you Integris. This makes the time pass so much more quickly.
The lab was pretty empty for a while, but it was started to fill up. The people who come in are very interesting! Quite a variety.
Two blood draws down, two more to go.

So, I’ve pretty much been avoiding the camera with this pregnancy. I didn’t take any maternity photos at Nathaniel’s last shoot, although we could have. I just wasn’t in the mood. But, I guess I should be chronicling this growing belly as well. So here goes . . .
We were just messing around with the camera taking pictures of ‘Thaniel.

This is on Nathaniel’s birthday — after I finished all the cakes.

As for this pregnancy, I am 28 weeks today. Yeah! I have glucose tolerance testing this week — probably Tuesday. I guess I should plan on the 3 hour test for Thursday. Oh, joy. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
I also broke down this week and ordered the bedding set for little girl’s room. I waited too long and couldn’t order it from pbkids, so I had to find the remaining pieces I needed on *bay. Oh, well, I think it will be beautiful and it was still cheaper than the original price. Now I have to get rid of the bumper pad I bought on clearance at pbkids that I don’t need now.
So gradually, we’re getting things together. If we can just survive the heat.

I have a new great niece! She was due on August 9th, but decided that she wanted to be a July baby (much to her mother’s appreciation). She needed to beat the record tying (maybe record breaking) heat we’re experiencing.
Her name is Journey and she was born on Thursday afternoon, July 31st. I now have three niece/nephews with birthdays on July 31st. It’s a busy day.
Bloss, baby, and I made the trip down to Durant on Thursday night. Baby stayed with Aunt Quinn on Friday so we could go visit baby Journey. She’s a sweetheart. I was a complete baby hog at the hospital. She didn’t want to wake up, but I made her mad enough at one point that she opened her eyes and cried.

I’m “ready” for our little girl now.

I can’t believe it’s taken so long to get around to posting. Two birthday parties in three days was a lot.
Things went well — better than I expected. Baby had a wonderful time, although he wasn’t too cooperative with opening presents or eating cake at either party.
Nathaniel with “his” little cake at the OKC party on Thursday.

Nathaniel and his cousin Joshua with Maama and Aunt Quinna getting ready for the Lane party on Saturday.

Nathaniel’s Monkey Cake (I made one for each party — chocolate for OKC and butter flavored “wedding cake” for Lane).
